Bitcoin Price Forecast: Standard Chartered maintains a prediction of $200,000 by the end of 2025

Bitcoin price forecast: Standard Chartered sticks to 200,000 US dollars by the end of 2025

Standard Chartered bank is optimistic about Bitcoin and forecasts a price of up to 200,000 US dollars by the end of 2025.

The British financial giant Standard Chartered is considered one of the most influential traditional big banks when it comes to Bitcoin price forecasts. As early as April 2023, Standard Chartered announced Bitcoin price targets of 2024 and 2025. The forecast was initially formulated that Bitcoin could breach the 100,000 US dollar mark in 2024. Now a new analysis reinforces optimism and suggests a target of up to 200,000 US dollars for Bitcoin by the end of 2025.

Since mid-2023, Bitcoin has been in an upward price trend and has recently been trading at just under 35,000 US dollars. Halving events, which occur approximately every four years, are significant in interpreting Bitcoin’s price potential. The next halving is expected in April 2024, meaning block rewards will decrease from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC for miners.

According to Standard Chartered, the mechanism of reducing rewards for miners leads to less Bitcoin being sold, in turn causing an increase in the BTC price. The same effect was observed after previous halvings in Bitcoin’s history. According to the bank, the price increase process following the 2024 halving may be particularly dynamic.

However, the experts at Standard Chartered also acknowledge risks. Regulatory concerns, particularly in the US, and any large-scale sell-off by institutional investors could suppress Bitcoin’s price. Still, the bank believes that Bitcoin increasingly represents a hedge against inflation and could continue to gain importance in portfolios.

The latest analysis by Standard Chartered is a rarity among traditional banks and occasions enthusiasm in the Bitcoin community. Heads of major investment firms like BlackRock are also showing more interest in Bitcoin, potentially fueling demand that drives prices upward. With a price forecast of 200,000 US dollars for Bitcoin by the end of 2025, Standard Chartered sets an optimistic benchmark among conservative financial institutions.
