Binance Founder CZ Zhao Reveals His Crypto Account: Only 13 Percent Bitcoin
CZ Zhao, founder of Binance, is a well-known advocate of Bitcoin, but the world’s leading cryptocurrency does not dominate in his portfolio. Rather, Zhao primarily holds BNB.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, is a key figure in the crypto industry, which is currently marked by turmoil. SEC investigations and lawsuits against Binance in the US have put the largest crypto exchange in the world under pressure. Additionally, Binance is operating in a difficult market environment. In this situation, CZ Zhao now revealed details about his own crypto portfolio.
Via the social media platform X, he communicated that BNB has a significantly higher share in his portfolio than Bitcoin. According to his statement, Bitcoin holds only 13 percent of his total assets. BNB, on the other hand, takes up 75 percent of his portfolio. The remaining 12 percent is divided among other cryptocurrencies, which Zhao did not specify.
This statement triggered speculation and put some investors on alert. BNB is the in-house currency of Binance, and naturally has direct ties to the fate of the exchange. If Binance does not succeed in regaining trust, the BNB price could also come under pressure. However, CZ Zhao seems convinced of Binance, holding on to BNB in the long term.
It is noteworthy that CZ Zhao did not mention any investments in assets other than cryptocurrencies. For many in the industry, it is common practice to diversify their portfolios, and investments in stocks, real estate, or precious metals are not unusual. Zhao clearly sees things differently, seemingly sticking with the crypto market.
In light of the public turmoil around Binance and CZ Zhao in recent months, his portfolio composition signals confidence. Should Binance emerge stronger from the current crisis, it is likely that Zhao will benefit significantly from BNB’s price development. Conversely, the proportion of Bitcoin at only 13 percent suggests that Zhao assesses the market potential of the number one among cryptocurrencies as less significant in comparison to BNB.
